What to expect
- A view of the lake
- The lake is in a Naturschutzgebiet, so we don't swim in it (but two swimmable lakes are close by)
- Fresh drinks and snacks
- Some soft music (it's at a bird sanctuary) ((birds only enjoy the sound of birds)) (((bird)))
- Electricity, running water and Wi-Fi
- Our well water is lovely, but not for drinking
- Smoked fish from the town nearby
- Lots of sunscreen and bug spray
- Room to camp, if you fancy
Getting there
🚂 + 🚌 Transit (~2 hrs)
Take the RE3 to Trebbin (hourly, ~20 min) from Gesundbrunnen, Hauptbahnhof, Südkreuz or Lichterfelde Ost. Trebbin is just past zone C, so buy a VBB ticket. From there, the Kranich Express Rufbus (book ahead, max 6 people, ~20 min) drops you at the last stop, Blankensee (TF), Schule. From there it's a 20-min walk (1.5 km): follow Am Mühlenberg toward the lake, take the dirt road on your right at the end, then the next left. You will see a green gate, and you have arrived.
🚂 + 🚲 Train + bike (~1.5 hrs)
RE3 to Trebbin (above), then cycle the bike path to Schönhagen (~7 km) and on to the Datsche (~2 km). On the Bundesstraße, turn left just after the giant beech tree, at the Naturschutzgebiet entrance. Follow the road and keep left at the fork. You will see a green gate, and you have arrived.
🚗 Car (~1 hr)
Head south — we like the Avus to dodge traffic. On the L793 / Blankenseer Allee, pass the village of Blankensee toward Schönhagen. At the slight left curve, look right for a dirt road down the field; take it and keep left at the fork. You will see a green gate, and you have arrived.
🚂 + 🚕 Taxi
Happy to pick you up from Trebbin (closest) or Ludwigsfelde (trains every ~30 min). Just message us.
